  • MELISSA OLSON

    BASA admin

    I’ve been involved with BASA for over 15 years, and it has been a meaningful part of our family’s life. All five of my daughters have participated in the program, beginning in U6 Rec and continuing through United, and my husband Jeramie has also been actively involved as a volunteer and licensed coach.

    My passion for serving on the BASA board comes from a desire to give back to a program that has given so much to my family, and to help continue building an environment that supports players, families, and coaches at every level.

    What I love most about BASA is the sense of family it creates. It’s a place where kids can grow through sport, build new friendships, and develop both on and off the field in a supportive and community-focused environment.

    As Board President of the Brandon Area Soccer Association, I’m passionate about creating opportunities for kids to grow through the game of soccer. Having been closely involved in the program, I’m committed to supporting our players, families, and coaches while continuing to strengthen and expand what we offer. It’s an honor to help build a positive, competitive, and inclusive environment for our community.

    I’m passionate about serving on the BASA board because I believe youth soccer builds confidence, character, and life skills that extend far beyond the field. I want every child to have a positive, supportive experience. I’ve been involved in soccer for many years as a player, referee, coach, and parent, and now coach my daughter’s team while helping BASA continue to grow and strengthen. What I love most about BASA is the strong sense of community—bringing families together while helping kids develop skills, teamwork, and a genuine love for the game.

    I’m dedicated to supporting young athletes and families in our community by helping create strong, innovative development opportunities through BASA. As a parent of two BASA United players and a coach during both fall and spring seasons, I love being actively involved in their growth and experience. My favorite part of BASA is the supportive community—cheering on teams, collaborating with positive coaches, and watching young athletes develop both on and off the field.

    I’m grateful to be part of BASA, a program with a strong history and an exciting future that serves our community so well. With three children involved—two in BASA United and one in the Rec program—our family is deeply connected, with my wife coaching and me assisting at the rec level. What I value most about BASA is its community focus, where building confidence, creating positive experiences, and supporting families matter more than just winning.

    I’m passionate about being part of the Brandon Area Soccer Association board because I’ve seen the positive impact the board can have on youth sports and the direction BASA continues to grow. I currently have two kids involved in BASA — one in Rec and one in United — and I stay active by coaching a rec girls team and managing a boys United team. My favorite part of BASA is the connections and friendships built through the soccer community with players, parents, and families.
